Oklahoma Goodwill Industries Abilities Scholarship

Eligibility:

  • Graduating high school seniors from the state of Oklahoma.
  • A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Provide written documentation from a physician or service provider supporting that the candidate meets the definition of disabled as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act.
  • Must be U.S. citizen.

Financial need is considered. Recipients may reapply for this scholarship.

Funds may be used for educational related expenses such as tuition, fees and books at any academically accredited public two-year, four-year or vocational technical nonprofit institution in the United States. If the scholarship recipient resides in college housing, the scholarship can include funds for room and board. Funds may also be used for adaptive equipment such as an electric wheel chair or any tutor necessary to pursue academic studies. Payments are made directly to the school.

The Abilities Scholarship was established in 2006 by Oklahoma Goodwill Industries. The mission of this scholarship is to encourage individuals with disabilities to pursue their educational goals; to build a base of trained, skilled workers for a future workforce; and to increase community awareness of the commitment Oklahoma Goodwill has to the employment of persons with disabilities.
