Nevin and Beverly Starkey Edmond Kiwanis Club Scholarship
NOTE: To apply for this scholarship, please complete all of the components of the (1) General Application and then the (2) High School Senior Student Application. Meeting the eligibility criteria and submitting all required components/fields on the High School Senior Student Application will automatically move an applicant into the Nevin & Beverly Starkey Edmond Kiwanis Club Scholarship applicant pool.
- Eligible applicants must be a graduating high school senior from high schools supported by the Edmond Kiwanis Club (currently Edmond Memorial, Edmond North, Edmond Santa Fe, Deer Creek and Boulevard Academy).
- Unweighted cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0.
- Applicants must be a Key Club member. Applicants: Please provide information regarding participation in these activities in your resume.
- Applicants may be asked to participate in an interview process.
The Nevin & Beverly Starkey Edmond Kiwanis Club Scholarship is a renewable award. Applicants of this scholarship are eligible to renew their scholarship if they maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher in college. The award may not go out more than four consecutive years.
This award may be used for tuition, fees and books. The award may be used at any academically accredited, nonprofit educational institution in the United States including vocational/technical centers. Payments are made in two installments (fall and spring semester) each academic year directly to the student’s school after proof of enrollment has been provided to the Oklahoma City Community Foundation. Payments are issued in the following academic year.
The Nevin & Beverly Starkey Edmond Kiwanis Club Scholarship was established in 2018 to honor the lives and community service of the Starkeys. This scholarship encourages graduating high school Key Club seniors from high schools supported by the Edmond Kiwanis Club to pursue a degree in higher education. This is an endowed fund of the Oklahoma City Community Foundation.
