Gene and Sylvia McPherson Agricultural Scholarship

NOTE: To apply for this scholarship, please complete all of the components of the (1) General Application and then the (2) High School Senior Student Application. Meeting the eligibility criteria and submitting all required components/fields on the High School Senior Student Application will automatically move an applicant into the Gene & Sylvia McPherson Agricultural Scholarship applicant pool.

Eligibility:

  • Eligible applicants must be a graduating high school senior from Washington High School (Washington, OK).
  • Unweighted cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0.
  • Applicants must demonstrate participation in FFA by receiving their State FFA degree.

The Gene & Sylvia McPherson Agricultural Scholarship is a one-time award.

The award may be used for tuition, fees and books. Payments are made in two installments (fall and spring semester) each academic year directly to the student’s school after proof of enrollment has been provided to the Oklahoma City Community Foundation. Payments are issued in the following academic year. No more than six credit hours may be completed online each semester.

The Gene & Sylvia McPherson Agricultural Scholarship was established in 2018. This scholarship encourages worthy students from the Washington High School who have participated in FFA to pursue a degree in higher education. This is an endowed fund of the Oklahoma City Community Foundation.
