Nell Franklin Scholarship
NOTE: To apply for this scholarship, please complete all of the components of the (1) General Application and then (2) the High School Senior Student Application. Meeting the eligibility criteria and submitting all required components/fields on the High School Senior Student Application will automatically move an applicant into the Nell Franklin Scholarship applicant pool.
- Applicants must be a graduating high school senior from one of the three Lawton high schools.
- Applicants must be a female.
- Unweighted GPA greater than or equal to 2.5.
- Applicants must plan to attend Cameron University or Great Plains Technology Center in Lawton, OK.
The Nell Franklin Scholarship is a one-time award; previous recipients may reapply for up to four years. Funds may be used for tuition, fees and book expenses. Payments are made directly to the school. No more than six credit hours may be completed online each semester.
The Nell Franklin Scholarship Fund was established in 2016 as an endowed fund at the Lawton Community Foundation. Longtime Lawton resident and Lawton Business Women’s Club (LBW) member, Nell Franklin established the Nell Franklin Scholarship through a planned gift to the LBW. The Nell Franklin Scholarship fund was managed by the Lawton Business Women’s Past Presidents club prior to the fund moving to the Lawton Community Foundation. This scholarship encourages graduating high school females from any Lawton high schools to pursue an undergraduate degree at Cameron University or Great Plains Technology Center (Lawton Campus).
