Jonas & Mary Beatrice House Scholarship

Eligibility:

  • Applicants must be a graduating senior from Douglass High School (Oklahoma City).
  • Applicants must be African American.
  • Unweighted GPA greater than or equal to 3.0.

Financial need may be considered in the event of a tie.

The Jonas & Mary Beatrice House Scholarship is a one-time award. Recipients must attend any academically accredited two-year or four-year not-for-profit college or university in the United States. Funds may be used for tuition, fees and book expenses; payments are made directly to the school. No more than six credit hours may be completed online each semester.

The Jonas & Mary Beatrice House Scholarship fund is established to encourage graduating seniors from Douglass High School to pursue post-secondary education degree programs within the United States. This is an endowed scholarship fund of the Oklahoma City Community Foundation.

How has your community service influenced your plans for college or work in the future? (Please limit to 500 words.)
  2. Did you submit your household's FAFSA Student Aid Report (SAR) for the coming year when you completed the General Application? (NOTE: If you answered "no", please know that financial need may be considered for this scholarship, and to be eligible for this scholarship you need to return to the General Application and attach a FAFSA or a 1040 if you cannot complete the FAFSA.) If you are unable to complete the FAFSA, please be sure to indicate your financial circumstances on your General Application under the the unusual circumstances question.
