Dr. Eugene S. Briggs Memorial Scholarship


  • Students who are residents of Oklahoma and are graduating, or have graduated, from an Oklahoma high school.
  • Must have a financial need.
  • Academic achievement, community service and need will all be reviewed in the application process.
  • Recipients of this scholarship must be enrolled full time in a course of study leading to a degree or certification at an academically accredited nonprofit institution in the United States.

Funds may be used for tuition, fees and book expenses; payments are made directly to the school. Awards must be used within the immediate academic year after the award is granted.

The Lions of Oklahoma established this memorial trust fund to perpetually memorialize and show appreciation to a fellow Oklahoma Lion, Dr. Eugene S. Briggs. He was the former president of Phillips University and a past international president of Lions Clubs.
